West Bengal: Family of CPIM leader attacked with guns, uncle shot dead allegedly by TMC goons

West Bengal: In another instance of political violence against Left leaders and workers, a CPI(M) leader and his family were attacked by alleged TMC workers in Coochbehar on Sunday.

Atabul Islam, a student leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist) had won the Panchayat Polls in face of grave threats from TMC goons. Today armed men attacked his house in Coochbehar.

His uncle Ramjan Ali was shot dead and seven family members including himself and his father are in a critical condition in the hospital.

PTI reported widespread violence during the polls which claimed at least 12 lives and left 43 injured.
