VHP Leader Incites Hate, Case Registered
VHP leader Sadhvi Saraswati was booked for allegedly exhorting violence and hurting religious sentiments in her speech.

A case was today registered against VHP leader Sadhvi Saraswati for allegedly exhorting violence and hurting religious sentiments in her speech at a Hindu convention near here recently.
1. Badiadka police have registered a case of hate-speech against Madhya Pradesh-based preacher Sadhvi Saraswati for calling on people to slash the neck of cow slaughterers and ‘love jihadis’, The New Indian Express reported.
2. Speaking at a ‘Virat Hindu convention’ in Badiadka last Friday, Saraswati called on youths to gift swords to their sisters so that they could slash the necks of ‘love jihadis’ who would dare to even look at them, the report said.
3. Saraswati, who is also the president of Sanatan Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti, also said that ‘Gau Mata’ (cows) was killed and beef party organised in Kerala, those she is respected the world over. “Such slaughterers have no right to live in India…,” she had said, it said.
4. The report further said that she went on to say: “Now I would say something which might sound bitter or wrong… You all consider cow as your mother. If your mother is standing at junction and goons are teasing her, what would you do? But in Kerala, cows are publicly slaughtered in front of your eyes… Those who slaughter cows, they should also be slaughtered in public square,” she said.

A case was registered under non-bailable sections of Indian Penal Code like 295A (deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of a citizen), 153 (giving provocation with intention to cause riot) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) on a complaint from a person named Naufal, police said.
6. The police said the Sadhvi, while addressing a Hindu convention at Badiyadukki in the northernmost Kasaragod district, tried to create tension by her inflammatory speech on April 27. The convention was organised by VHP and Bajrang Dal.
7. Last year, the preacher had said in Goa that “beef eating is like eating mother’s meat, and therefore, such people should be hanged in a public square and when their bodies are hung publicly, no one will dare to eat beef”, according to the report.
