Tata Communications Dismisses Contractor With Immediate Effect For Threatening Journalist Nikhil Wagle
Wagle shared the screenshots of Patil’s Facebook profile on Twitter, tagging Mumbai Police.
A day after Tata Communications contractor Jadhav Patil threatened journalist Nikhil Wagle on Facebook, the company dismissed him with immediate effect on Thursday.
Commenting on one of Wagle’s post, Patil said that the journalist “will one day meet the fate of Dabholkar and Pansare”. Wagle shared the screenshots of Patil’s Facebook profile on Twitter, tagging Mumbai Police.

Reacting to Wagle’s tweet, Tata Communications wrote:
We’re appalled by this – it’s not the behaviour that we condone & expect our employees to treat everyone with respect. As a result of investigation, the contractor in question has been dismissed with immediate effect.

The journalist thanked the company for taking prompt action.

Wagle also said that the Pune Police asked him to file an official complaint in connection with this issue.
