T20 Captain Harmanpreet Kaur Loses Job Over Fake Degree. Meanwhile, Suspense Over PM Modi’s Degree Still On

Indian women’s T20 cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur loses her deputy superintendent of police rank on Monday after a police investigation revealed that she had submitted a fake degree.
The Punjab government had offered Kaur the position after her performance in the Women’s World Cup last year, reported The Times of India.
This is not the first time that questions over the qualifications of a government representative servant have surfaced.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also found himself in a similar fake degree row, following which senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders held a press conference earlier this year to show his “authentic” degree. There has since been a mystery around discrepancies that were found in this “authentic” degree.
From a wrongly spelt name to the year in which the degree was awarded, the answers to these variations seem to be lost in deep space.
Last year, a Central Information Commission order directed Delhi University to allow the inspection of records of all students who had passed BA examination in 1978, the year when Modi had also cleared it. However, it was stayed by the Delhi High Court later.
