Farmer On Hunger Strike Protesting Arrears Dies Ahead Of PM Modi’s Visit

Baghpat: Ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Baghpat in Westen Uttar Pradesh, a farmer protesting against increased electricity bill and the payment of sugarcane arrears succumbed to a heart attack on Saturday here.
The outstanding payment of sugarcane this year has reached a record high level, Outlook Hindi reported. The protestors were on a hunger strike since the last five days. They are now sitting with the body of the deceased at the protest site. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhry rushed to the spot after the incident.
