Corruption, Crony Capitalism and Hollande’s ‘Surgical Strike’: Twitter Users Slam Modi Government Over Rafale Scam
Government ministers who were defending the deal hitherto, have been unusually silent after Hollande’s statement.
After former French President François Hollande on Friday told French Media that it was the Modi government which picked Ambani’s Reliance Defence for the Rafale deal, Twitter was quick to react.
Decrying corruption and crony capitalism, Twitter users took the government to the cleaners in their no holds barred criticism. Even PM Modi’s dedicated supporters found it difficult to defend the Rafale scam.
At this point, any person who is supporting Modi Government on #RafaleScam is anti-national — to use the language of India’s Hindu rightwing.
If they have any shame left, three persons must quit the government: Narendra Modi, Nirmala Sitharaman and Arun Jaitley.

Sitharaman is not so much a Raksha Mantri as a glorified spokesperson. On Rafale she says what PMO tells her to say. She has no independent knowledge about it. Hollande is accusing Prime Minister Modi & the PMO of pushing Anil Ambani into the Rafale deal. This sits at PM’s door.
