Akhilesh Yadav Refuses To Attend RSS Event In Delhi

New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that he will not attend the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) meet scheduled to be held in Delhi from Monday, India Today reported.
“I don’t have much knowledge about RSS. I have only read on what made Sardar Patel ban the RSS and after reading that paragraph I don’t have the courage to attend the meet,” Akhilesh said, while attending ‘India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit’ event.
He added: “I always insist that each one should at least read about those matters which were banned by Sardar Patel. It will ensure that whatever he had said that time, the situation remains same even today.”

According to a Times of India report, the RSS has also invited Congress president Rahul Gandhi and its leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) president Mayawati and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Chandrababu Naidu for the three-day interaction with its chief Mohan Bhagwat at Vigyan Bhavan on September 17-19.
The Congress party, however, blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS for spreading fake news and denied having received any invite for the event.
