Tripura: BJP Members Beat Up Journalist Severely, Alleges CPI (M)

Narayan Dhar, a journalist with “Daily Desh Deher” was assaulted by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) members on Sunday in Mohanpur, West Tripura, Communist Party of India ( Marxist) [CPI (M)] claimed.
CPI (M) state secretary Bijan Dhar told The Times of India, “Narayan Dhar, a correspondent with ‘Daily Desher Katha’, was assaulted and threatened by a gang of around 20 miscreants at Mohanpur (in West Tripura). The attackers snatched his identity card, cash and other documents after beating him up severely.”
Till now, no accused has been arrested.
CPI (M) alleged that the attacks on journalists were politically motivated.
Another television journalist was attacked by the BJP members on June 29 in Kailashahar.
