- Patna HC Rescues Woman Being Beaten Up By Her District Judge Father For Being In Love
The Patna High Court on Tuesday directed that arrangements be made for shifting a judge’s daughter to Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) hostel after she admitted that “she is not comfortable staying with her parents” and “wanted to get into wedlock”. The court also added that she is allowed to talk to anybody during her stay at the university campus. The parents of the woman in question had confined her in their residence with an intention to keep her away from her Delhi-based lover, News Central24x7 first reported the matter on June 21, 2018. A 37-year-old software professional has alleged that he was forced to resign after he raised his voice against “religious discrimination” and “mental harassment” by his senior manager in a Pune-based firm. In his letter to the labour commissioner, Aman Khan, who was working as a technical lead with EXFO Electro-optical India Pvt Ltd, claimed that the company’s HR had informed him about the termination of his services on June 12 and “forced” him to sign his “resignation” letter. A 21-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly sexually harassed and her mother was attacked by a youth for opposing him at Bhokaheri village in the district, police said here today. A woman BJP MLA today broke down in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, claiming that she and her family members were being harassed by police at the behest of a senior leader of her own party. During the Zero Hour, MLA Neelam Abhay Mishra stood up and said the Rewa district police were trying to frame up her and her family members in false cases, and sought security cover. In yet another case of rumours leading to lynching, a 40-year-old woman was beaten to death by a mob here on the suspicion of being a child-lifter. The incident took place at Juna Vadaj Circle this afternoon when a mob of around 30 persons attacked four women travelling in an auto rickshaw, said inspector J A Rathva of Vadaj police station. An FIR was registered against Devendra Singh Maravi (32) and his friend Shivwrat Singh today at Lakahnpur police station, based on the complaint filed by journalist Rajesh Prasad Gupta. The rupee plunged by 30 paise to hit a 19-month low of 68.54 against the US dollar in early trade today on strong month-end dollar demand from importers and banks amid sustained foreign capital outflows. This is the rupee’s lowest level against the greenback since November 29, 2016.
