BJP Leader Arrested For Storing Drugs Worth Rs 27 Crore At His Residence
Narcotics department seized 4.595 kg of heroin, 28 kg of World is Yours (WY) tablets from BJP leader Lutkhosei Zou’s house.
The Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) on Thursday arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lutkhosei Zou after drugs worth Rs 27 crores were found at his residence at Langol Game Village, Manipur on Friday, according to an ANI report. Zou is also the chairman of an autonomous district council in Chandel district.
The seizures include 4.595 kg of heroin, 28 kg of World is Yours (WY) tablets and Rs 57.18 lakh and old currency notes worth Rs 95,000. A 0.32 NPB Pistol with 21 rounds, one SBBL Rifle, two gun license books and eight bank passbooks were also recovered, said the report.
Besides Zou, seven other individuals — Esther Vungheinuam, Mung Zou Aric, Teresa Ngaite Nengboi, Lawrence Zou, Minlal Mate, Sio Jamthang Mate and Mt Jamkhohao, public relations officer of the autonomous council chairman — have also been arrested.
