Thunderstorm Claims 16 Lives In UP But CM Yogi On BJP Duty In Karnataka
Yogi Adityanath is busy campaigning in Karnataka while UP is reeling under thunderstorm.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is busy campaigning for his party in Karnataka. The chief minister will hold a rally in Bijapur on Thursday in spite of the fact that 16 people and 22 animals have died due to thunderstorms in his state on Wednesday.
“Sixteen people and 22 animals dead, 25 people injured in nine districts due to a thunderstorm in Western UP yesterday. Six houses destroyed. I spoke to respective District Magistrates and asked them to ensure compensation to those affected,” Sanjay Kumar, Relief Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh told ANI.
On Wednesday evening, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members took permission for Adityanath’s rally in Bijapur.
The chief minister rushed back to the State last week after facing flak for campaigning in Karnataka while UP was reeling under a thunderstorm. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also hit at him with a witty tweet.
