Man Behind Kidnapping, Murder of Chitrakoot Twins Has Close Ties To BJP Leaders, Say Police
Reportedly, the kidnapped boys were taken to separate locations, using vehicles bearing BJP and Bajrang Dal flags.
The Chitrakoot kidnapping case that was followed by double murders has been centrally planned and executed by Padam Shukla, who has links to RSS- BJP, Madhya Pradesh Police confirmed on Sunday.
Speaking in a press conference, Inspector general of Police (Rewa Range) Chanchal Shekhar said that the vehicles confiscated by the police had BJP flags. The senior police official added that the main accused has images with BJP leaders on his Facebook page, as per Suresh Kumar Mishra’s report in Patrika.
The Police have arrested six people — five from Uttar Pradesh and one from Madhya Pradesh — all are in their 20s, for the kidnapping and murder. Raju Dwiwedi, Lucky Tomar, Rohit Dwiwedi, Ramkesh Yadav and Pintu Ramswaroop Yadav are from Uttar Pradesh, while the main accused Padma Shukla is from Madhya Pradesh.
Padam Shukla is reportedly related to BJP leader Chandrasekhar Trivedi. Shukla had posted his photos with BJP and RSS leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and local BJP leaders from Chitrakoot on social media websites. He is also considered to be close to Bahubali Raja Bhaiya.
The kidnappers allegedly demanded Rs 20 lakh as ransom after kidnapping Priyansh and Sreyansh on February 12, which the family reportedly paid. Later, they demanded more money to release the school-going children. However, the accused killed them out of fear that the boys would identify them, the police reportedly said.
According to the police, the twins were initially placed somewhere around Chitrakoot by the kidnappers. They were taken to separate locations, using vehicles bearing BJP and Bajrang Dal flags. The flags eased out their passage as the Police did not stop the cars that bore the symbols of the saffron party and Hindutva group, as per the report.
