Maharashtra: BJP Leader Arrested, Hundreds of Lethal Weapons Seized from His Shop in Police Raid
Dhananjay Kulkarni, the BJP vice-president for Dombivli city, has been sent to the Adharwadi prison.
Kalyan crime branch police reportedly seized around 170 lethal arms from the shop of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office bearer Dhananjay Kulkarni in Dombivli, Maharashtra late on Tuesday, January 15.
The Marathi newspaper Loksatta reported that the police raided on Kulkarni’s shop after receiving a tip-off that Kulkarni was selling arms inside the premises of his shop, Tapasya Fashion House.

Kulkarni is the BJP vice-president of Dombivli city. According to Loksatta, arms worth Rs two lakhs were seized, which included several pistols. As per Times Now, however, nearly 108 types of weapons including guns, swords, machetes and knives were recovered. Kulkarni has been arrested and sent to the Adharwadi prison.
The Loksatta report added that raid and Kulkarni’s subsequent arrest had caused embarrassment to ruling BJP government in Maharashtra.
