M.P. Congress: New Govt Fulfilled Several Poll Promises Within Three Hours of Chief Minister’s Oath Taking

The said pre-election promises include increasing old-age pension, assistance for daughters’ marriage and childbirth assistance. 

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Party has said that alongside waving off farmers’ loans, the newly-formed state government led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath has fulfilled a number of other pre-election promises.

According to M.P. Congress’ official Twitter account, old-age pension has been increased to Rs 1000 from Rs 300.

The party has also said that Rs 51,000 will be given as assistance for daughters’ marriage, up from the Rs 26,000 under the previous govt. Similarly, the party has also claimed that Rs 26,000 will be allocated as financial assistance for women post-delivery, up from the previous allocation of Rs 16,000.

On December 19, Nath had signed the order to waive off farmers’ loans up to Rs two lakh. In total, around Rs 38,000 crores worth of loans, extending to around 34 lakh farmers have been waived so far.
