Chandrashekar reportedly blamed the BJP for his sudden decision and said, “None of the BJP leaders bothered to campaign for me and I felt I was being made a sacrificial goat in this bypoll battle.”
He added that he would be lending support to the Congress-JDS candidate contesting the by-election from Ramanagara.
The by-elections are scheduled for November 3, for three Lok Sabha constituencies — Ballari, Mandya and Shivamogga — and two state assembly constituencies— Ramanagara and Jamakhandi.
