Uttar Pradesh: BJP Councillor Caught On Video Thrashing A Police Officer
BJP Councillor Munish Chaudhary has been arrested and a case under Section 395 and Section 354 of IPC has been registered.
A video that has now gone viral on social media, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Councillor Munish Chaudhary is seen brutally thrashing a sub-inspector of Uttar Pradesh police.
The incident took place on Friday in Meerut, when sub-inspector Sukhpal Singh Pawar had gone to a restaurant with a friend. They got into an argument with the staff, after which, Chaudhary, who owns the restaurant, began thrashing SI Pawar, reported The Times of India.

A case was subsequently registered against Chaudhary under under Section 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC, reported ANI. Chaudhary has now been arrested.

Reportedly, the supporters of Chaudhary gathered to protest his arrest. Chaudhary is a BJP councillor from Ward No. 40 in Meerut.
