Who All Will Be Arrested? After Lois Sofia, Twitter Users Shout ‘Facist BJP Down Down’

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Tamilisai Soundararajan filed a complaint against Lois Sophia for shouting “Facist BJP down down” on board a flight on Monday. Following the minister’s complaint, police officials arrested Sofia and placed her in a15-day judicial custody. 

Sophia was granted bail earlier on Wednesday.

Noting the irony in jailing Sophia for opposing fascism, social media users criticised Soundararajan for using her power to curb freedom of speech. Several enraged Twitter users came out in Sofia’s support and attacked the BJP leader for the overreaction.
